What rejuvenation is, and what it is not

An asphalt shingle ages by losing the oils that keep it flexible. As those oils go, the shingle grows brittle, edges curl, and granules let go. Rejuvenation is a treatment applied to a cleaned roof that is intended to restore flexibility to shingles that have dried out but have not yet failed.

It is not a repair, it is not a coating, and it is not a substitute for a roof that has reached the end. If your roof needs replacing, we will tell you that instead of selling you this.

Which roofs qualify

The roof has to be structurally sound, asphalt shingle, and aging rather than failing. It has to be cleaned first, because the treatment cannot reach a shingle through a layer of algae and lichen. We look at the roof, at its age, and at how the granules and edges are behaving before we recommend it.

Most people call about rejuvenation because a roofing company has told them the roof is done. Sometimes that is correct. Questions about roof rejuvenation

How do I know if my roof qualifies?

It has to be asphalt shingle, structurally sound, and aging rather than failing. We look at the age, at how the granules are holding and at how the edges are behaving before we recommend it, and the look costs nothing.

Is this instead of a new roof?

Sometimes, and sometimes not. If the roof is finished we will say so rather than sell you a treatment. Where the roof is dry and dirty rather than done, cleaning plus rejuvenation buys real years for a fraction of a replacement.

How much does pressure washing cost in Central Indiana?

A typical 2,500 square foot house wash runs $450 to $550, and most land around $500. Our minimum service charge is $250 for most standalone jobs. Smaller homes run $250 – $399 and larger ones $500 – $900+. Concrete is $200 – $450 for 400 to 800 square feet, roof cleaning $600 – $1,500+, decks $200 – $500, fences $250 – $700+ and windows $100 – $300+ as an add on. Those are budget ranges rather than final quotes, because two houses that look alike from the road can be an hour apart in labor.

If I book more than one service, do the prices add together?

No, and that is worth knowing before you compare. The individual prices are not meant to be stacked. Once the $250 minimum is met on a visit, windows, concrete, gutters and other services can often be added for less than we would charge to come out for that one service on its own, because the setup only happens once. The estimate shows each line so you can see the difference.

Do I need to be home for the service?

For most exterior work, no. We need access to the areas being cleaned and to an outside water connection. We will confirm that with you before the day.
